Admission Requirements

An applicant is considered for full admission to our programs by meeting the following criteria:

NOTE: An applicant who does not meet all of the requirements for full admission may be admitted conditionally to the MA degree program. Students with a GPA between 3.0 and 2.6 and/or who do not have 3 psychology/social science credits, will be considered for conditional admission.

Students admitted on conditional status must meet with their Advisor and develop and follow a plan to support their success during the first semester of enrollment. These students must receive a GPA of 3.0 or better in the first 2 courses taken at Adler Graduate School. All courses must be completed in the time period required by the instructor. Upon completion, the student’s file will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee, at which time the applicant will be considered for Full Admission. In the event that the required GPA is not achieved in the first two courses, conditional status will be ended, and acceptance will be denied.

Student-at-Large (Non-Degree Seeking Students)

Individuals not looking to pursue a degree or certificate may enroll as a student-at-large (SAL), if they meet the minimum requirements for admission. Persons interested in registering as SAL, must complete the online application and pay a non-refundable enrollment fee prior to registering for courses. Applicants who later seek admission to a degree or certificate program must complete an application and meet the requirements for that program.

Students-at-large must meet all course prerequisites and other requirements for courses taken. Courses taken for credit will apply toward completion of program requirements for students-at-large who are fully admitted later.

Students-at-large are not permitted to take practicum or internship. As a student- at-large, it is the responsibility of the student to determine which courses they wish to take. Students-at-large are not assigned an academic advisor nor will the school provide a transcript evaluation to assist in determining which courses the student should register for.

Applicants who have been denied admission will not be permitted to enroll or continue as a student-at-large.

Based on federal regulations, SAL are not eligible for federal financial aid but may apply for alternative loans.
